WSL 2022 surf event schedule released. A busy and exciting season is in store in 2022 with the season getting ready to kick off.  Starting with the Billabong Pro Pipeline January 29-30 at the Banzai Pipeline in Hawaii, the 2022 WSL CT will have ten events spanning seven countries.

History is in the making with the first men’s and women’s combined event.  Men and women will compete in an equal number of competitions throughout the season for an equal amount of prize money.  For the first time, there will be a mid-season cut.  In addition, G-Land in Indonesia returns to the men’s schedule for the first time in nearly two and a half decades, and it will be the inaugural event for the women.

Another first on the CT will be the Surf City El Salvador with a conclusion to the regular season at the Teahupo’o in Tahiti in August.  This event will be the last chance for surfers to qualify for the WSL Final 5 before heading to the Rip Curl WSL Finals from September 8-16.

The inaugural even of the Rip Curl WSL Finals was deemed a success as the top five men and top five women on the CT rankings over the season battled for the title.  With both men’s and women’s titles determined on the same day, last year’s event was the top viewed day of professional surfing in WSL history. In fact, Rip Curl has committed and supported professional surfing through a three-year deal of the Rip Curl WSL Finals.
