What to Know About the 2022 GKA Season. Despite the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the GKA had a sensational 2021 with great events set for 2022. There are five confirmed events with nine other events pending. The confirmed events are as follows:
Salinas del Rey, Columbia (Freestyle), March 2-6
Tarifa, Spain (Big Air World Championship), June 20-July 6
Sylt, Germany (Kite-surf), August 23-30
Bel Ombre, Mauritius (Kite-surf, Freestyle), September 17-25
Neom, Saudi Arabia (Freestyle), November 19-23
Other potential events that have not yet been confirmed could be as follows:

Galicia, Spain
Fuerteventura, Spain
Malidives
Eilat, Israel
Dakhla, Morocco
Cumbuco, Brazil
Fortaleza, Brazil

The disciplines on the Kite World Tour are Freestyle, Kite-surf, Big Air, and Hydrofoil Freestyle.
Riders can begin registering two months before an event up to three weeks before the event. Registration is done through the GKA world tour website. A certain kiting level which demonstrates competency is require to enter a World Cup event. For those that never participate in a World Cup event, they can apply for a wildcard spot via video application.
The Big Air World Championship is a World Sailing Special Event. The winner will be determined in the disciplines of hydrofoil, strapless, and twin-tip. The maximum number of competitors for a World Cup event this year is 28 per gender and discipline.
Nothing in the schedule is etched in stone. There is flexibility with regards to rules, formats, and events that may be updated. Be aware that final race notice details will be available a month before any event begins.
