Idaho ski resort closes due to heavy snowfall
Idaho ski resort closes due to heavy snowfall. Some of the lifts were covered with as much as 60 inches of snow. Conditions became too dangerous and there is a high possibility of an avalanche. Crews are all over the mountain triggering mini-avalanches in order to reduce the chances of uncontrolled massive avalanches that can pose danger. It was all light fluffy powder that has no base and what happened is that snow just tends to blow away. If you walk in it or put a pole in it you’re basically on the ground.
Lot of us that are ski and snowboard addicts would say there is no such a thing as too much snow, but after this news, we have to ask, is there really such a thing as too much snow?
